Spring

Explore the cycling in spring. Cycle out to the Rail Trail Café in Porepunkah, or to lunch at Boynton’s Winery.

Check out Spring festival gardens or come along to one of many events.

Summer

Visit the splash park and go river swimming in Summer.

Why not take a day-trip out to Harrietville, pick some fresh blueberries, fish for trout for dinner, and finish up with a swim in the dredge hole!

Autumn

The rich reds, yellows and golds in Autumn will take your breath away.  Spend time on one of the walks with a view of the town and treat yourself to an autumn vista that Monet would have loved.

Winter

In winter Bright is perfect for your off-mountain base.  If the snow is good, go skiing.  If not, head out to the wineries and go for an afternoon ride!

Seven great activities for each day of your holiday

Ride a bike.  Whether it’s hitting the mountain bike trails, climbing one of the peaks, or hiring a bike and riding the rail trail, there’s something for all ages and abilities.  Cycle Path, Bright Electric Bikes, All Terrain Cycles.

Get adventurous and take one of Bright’s adventure tours

Check out the local historic sites.  Explore the Buckland Valley, Harrietville, Wandiligong, or take a trip to Beechworth and get to know how gold mining influenced the alpine valleys.

Explore the wineries.  Drive yourself, ride your bike, or take the Tour of Duty around to the myriad of cool climate vineyards in the Ovens, King, and Kiewa Valleys.

In Bright you can do the café-crawl.  Sample locally roasted coffee, locally crafted chocolate, and delicious freshly cooked and baked goods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner…and the snacks in between!  For great coffee visit Food Wine Friends, Coral Lee, Sixpence, Cherry Walk, What You Eat, or Ginger Baker.

Take a trip to the high-country.  Ski or play in the snow in winter at Mt Hotham, Falls Creek, Dinner Plain or Mt Buffalo.  In summer you can’t go past Mt Buffalo walks.  From cascading waterfalls to stunning boulder fields.  From short strolls to day-long adventures.  A hike on the high-country plateaus will leave you exhilarated and wanting more.

Experience the rivers.  Our beautiful pristine rivers are a refuge for wildlife.  They also hold many stories.  Learn about the history of the area walking around the Cherry Walk and Canyon Walk in Bright.  Float down the Buckland River or swim in one of the area’s many waterholes.  Go fly-fishing
